Shelters come in many different forms.  They can be temporary shelter for the homeless, a safe place during or after a disaster, a shelter for runaways, neglected children or abused women. 

Many shelters provide additional services such as; meals, clothing, counseling, support groups, case management resources for job training, transitional or permanent housing, education and employment.
