BUILDING ARIZONA FAMILIES is a non-profit adoption agency, located in Surprise, AZ.  They provide adoptive and birth families with professional adoption services and place children through their domestic infant, interstate, and international adoption programs.

 

The agency has created the Donna K. Evans Foundation/SWAP (Supporting Women After Placement), a program named after the agency founders birth mother.  The Foundation was created to fulfill the agency's goal of empowering women and support them to achieve their dreams after placement.  Any woman who has placed a baby (regardless of the agency they've chosen) for adoption may utilize these services, at any time after the adoptive placement.  Services include; GED assistance/resources, bus passes, emergency food boxes, emergency home assistance, domestic violence assistance, computer usage for resume building and job searches as well as post-adoption communication, financial classes, job placement/interviews, interview attire, counseling and much more.

The grant money was used to purchase computers for resume building/interviews, business attire for interviews, hotel vouchers to assist with housing needs, bus passes, along with replacement ID's.  The money was also be used to hire a new case manager to oversee the SWAP Program.
